What TroubledCouples is
We are a directory. We connect people with independent practitioners. We do not employ therapists, we do not provide therapy, and we are not a party to whatever you agree with a practitioner you find here.
What we check, and what we don't
Before a profile goes live we verify the practitioner's registration with their accrediting body and confirm current professional indemnity insurance. We re-check annually.
We do not supervise their clinical work, guarantee outcomes, or take responsibility for the care they give. Choosing a therapist is your decision, and a listing here is not a personal recommendation.
This is not emergency care
Fees and payment
Fees shown are set by each practitioner. You pay them directly — we take no commission and add no booking fee, so nothing you pay is marked up by us. Cancellation terms are theirs, and are shown on their profile.
For practitioners
Listing requires a current registration with a recognised body and valid indemnity insurance, and a subscription. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile. If your registration lapses we will suspend your listing until it's renewed. We may remove a listing where there is a safeguarding concern.
Reviews
Reviews come from people who have actually had an appointment. We remove anything that identifies a third party, and we don't remove a review just because a practitioner dislikes it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
